Such a big helper

Ryker wanted to be with the boys and help put the trailer together. I suited him up and sent him outside to show them how it's done.

The happy little helper

He's EVERYWHERE

We always knew when Ryker started crawling he would be all over the place. What we didn't realize was how quickly he would go from one or two little crawls to covering the entire room in seconds. He just started crawling a few days ago and boy have our lives changed. He is into everything and is always on the go. Unfortunately he hasn't learned the meaning of the word "NO" as quickly as he learned to crawl. He has his hands in every drawer, cupboard or shelf he can reach. It just makes us more active as we run after him trying to stop him from destroying things.

He's already trying to climb the stairs.

Progress made....

We sent my brother Tony by the property on Tuesday and found out the backhoe was on the lot, but no digging had been done. We got a call the next day telling us they broke ground. On Thursday we went out to see how far along they were in the digging and found this......
the footings being poured!!!

Jacob looks like he's supervising

At this rate we will definitely be in by mid to late April. :)

Our new house!!!

After putting offers in on houses and being told the house is ours and then having it all fall through a few weeks later Jacob continued to look and came across some open lots in Grantsville where we could buy the lot and build the house without going over our budget. We went out and looked at them the next day and decided to put money down on the end lot. Three days later we went in and met with the builder and chose our colors and all that fun stuff. They should be breaking ground today or within the next few days. We are hoping to close and be moving into the house at the end of April.
We are going to be on .5 an acre which is next to telephone lines so we won't have a neighbor on that side and behind us is an open HOA park area so we won't have any backyard neighbors. An existing equestrian trail ends at our front yard so we have easy access to the trails that wind through the neighborhood. We are only 4 miles from Grantsville Reservoir which means some good 4wheeling trails nearby.
Another big plus is that we are only about a mile from Tony, Angie and girls so even though we are moving out to Grantsville we are still near family.
We never imagined we would be moving into a brand new house at this point in our lives, but we are and we are so excited!!
Here are a few pictures of our lot. We will keep everyone posted as things progress.

7 months and counting...

It's amazing how much kids learn and grow in just a month. Ryker has figured out how to get up on his hands and knees, but can't quite get the hang of moving his hands forward. Instead, he slides his knees back and gets further and further away from the object he was going for. He has realized he can lay on his stomach and turn himself around in a circle and if he rolls toward whatever it is he wants he usually ends up reaching it. He will get up on his hands and the tips of his toes and when he's about to fall over he will lunge/fall forward.
He has started making all different sounds and noises and has said "Hi", "Mom" and is so very close to saying "Dad". The "Hi" and "Mom" only lasted a day or two and he stopped saying them.
He is such a happy baby and loves to laugh at anyone who will jump out from behind something. He always has a huge smile for anyone who will look at him.
When he was first born it seemed like 3 months was sooo far away and here we are 7 months and a few days later and it just amazes me how short it has been and how much joy he has brought into our lives.
